A Blind Puppy Was So Happy To Meet His New Dad That He Couldn’t Stop Hugging Him
When the staff at The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County met Little Bear, a sweet, blind pup, for the first time, they fell head-over-heels in love.
The adorable pup was rescued from the streets. He needed a lot of affection and a loving home.
The shelter staff contacted Lee Asher, a dog rescuer and the founder of The Asher House, a non-profit animal sanctuary. They knew that Asher would fall in love with Little Bear, too, and they asked him to meet the pup.
Kelly Hill, a team member of The Asher House, went to the Washington shelter to pick him up. She drove the lovely pup to Oregon to meet Asher.
Little Bear Meets His Dad
As soon as Asher saw Little Bear, he melted with love. The adorable Chow Chow looked like a Teddy bear and he immediately stole Asher’s heart.
Asher took him in his arms and hugged him. The sweet canine buried himself in his arms and rested his cute, fluffy head on his shoulder.
He held onto Asher’s arm with his little paw. Neither Asher nor Little Bear wanted to let go of each other.
From the first moment he hugged Asher, Little Bear felt that he was at home.
Asher kept wondering how someone could have abandoned him. Little Bear was the sweetest boi. He looked like a puppy although he was an adult dog.
Asher covered his head in kisses, telling him that he loved him. He promised to be his forever dad.
“I love you! You never, ever have to worry again,” Asher said in a video that he posted on Instagram.
While Asher was hugging Little Bear, he kept thinking that he must be dreaming.
Both Little Bear and his dad were melting in each other’s arms. Asher declared himself to be in ‘deep love’ with him.
Hill told him that Little Bear had micro eyes and he couldn’t see anything. He had entropion and his eyelids were inverted into his eyes.
Asher felt saddened when he learned that the condition caused him pain. Little Bear was on medication. He needed to have eye surgery and to have his eyes removed.
The Forever Home Of His Dreams
Asher carried Little Bear to his car and wrapped his arms around the precious pup. He wished Little Bear to feel how much he loved him.
“I know you can’t see me, but I know you can feel me. And I love you. That’s love you feel,“ Asher said.
Asher took him home. Little Bear needed to wait for a couple of days until his dad introduced him to the pack. Asher wanted to make sure that the pup didn’t have kennel cough.
He cuddled with Little Bear in his room. The pup felt loved and he enjoyed his dad’s snuggles. When it was time to go to sleep, Asher tucked him in and kissed him good night.
On his second day at his forever home, Asher took Little Bear to the groomers. The doggo had a nice bath and he got groomed.
Asher took the pup to the vet for a medical checkup and scheduled his eye surgery.
After Little Bear underwent the surgery, he recovered well. His dad felt relieved because now, his lovely dog was not in pain anymore. He could finally enjoy life.
Little Bear’s Siblings Welcome Him to The Pack
The pup was ready to meet his siblings. At first, Little Bear was a little bit unsure of them.
After a couple of minutes, he relaxed and started to interact with them. His siblings sniffed him, wagged their tails, and welcomed him to the pack. Little Bear gave them little kisses.
Other blind dogs in the pack helped Little Bear to gain confidence. Now, the pup likes hiking with the pack and exploring nature. He loves his siblings and they love him, too.
“He’s doing amazing, he’s just so, so wonderful. I can’t tell you how much I love this dog, man,” Asher added.
Little Bear has never been happier. He has the perfect forever home, a loving dad, and great siblings who are there to support him.
Asher feels grateful and blessed to have Little Bear in his life. He adores him.
We’re over the moon for Little Bear. He deserved to be immensely loved and to find the happiness that all strays and abandoned pups wish for.
