Scared Puppy Just Wanted Somebody To Rescue Him And Then Everything Changed One Day
Meet Rolo – the pup who was always naturally timid and clearly different from the other dogs. He hasn’t had much contact with other people.
This made him naturally scared to the point that he would completely freeze upon seeing any human.
While it’s tough seeing his timid nature, he was ultimately a very playful and kind dog who just needed some time to adjust to his new life.
In this story, we will talk about the amazing person from Florida who decided to take Rolo in and help him overcome his fear of people.
Rolo’s Amazing Foster
When Tracy first met Rolo, she was a bit surprised by how scared he was of everyone around him.
She told The Dodo: “He was frozen and was clearly very scared. When I picked Rolo, I could tell he was scared around people.”
Tracy was his foster, and she welcomed him into her home. She placed a kennel where he would spend most of his time.
He loved exploring the new place, but anytime he saw his foster mom, he would get easily frightened.
She tried petting him but didn’t push it. He would always reluctantly get close and then back off at the last moment.
That’s when he would usually just go back into his crate because he felt it was his safe space away from his fear.
This would go on for a while. Rolo would peek out of his box and politely ask Tracy for pets before going back into his kennel.
Tracy said: “I figured he probably never came in contact with very many people in his life, and I don’t want to overwhelm him, because he was already scared.”
Rolo’s New Friend
That’s when a big change came around for Rolo. His amazing foster mom introduced him to her dog, Lily.
The two immediately got along, and this was a bit of a surprise for Tracy. While she expected it, she was so glad to see the nearly instant change in Rolo.
He would always be around her regardless of what they were doing, and Lily loved playing with him any chance she could.
Tracy said: “When I saw him being happy with my dog, it made me feel really good and I knew he was gonna have a good time here and not be scared all the time.”
Lily had a positive impact on Rolo’s attitude. He was less scared every day and would now go out of his way to ask his foster mom for pets. It was adorable.
Rolo’s Forever Home
Time flew by while they were having fun, and it was almost time for Tracy to find a good home for Rolo.
She was sad knowing that she might not see him again, but she knew that he belonged with a family who would always be there for him.
Tracy said: “When Taylor reached out and said she was interested in him, I figured she’s the family for him.”
When Taylor’s son met Rolo, there was an instant connection between them. They became quick friends and it was clear that he had gotten over his fear of meeting new people.
He also had quite a few dog siblings in their house in Florida with whom he would play pretty much all the time.
Rolo is lucky to have such wonderful people and friends around him, and I couldn’t be happier that he found his forever home.
